On righting wrongs

I once wrote to Crayola to express my outrage regarding two different crayon colors that were exactly the same. They bought my silence with a personalized letter and a bunch of sweet, Crayola swag.

On her favorite packaging design

KJÆR WEIS, my new cosmetics crush, nails it with clean, simple, and just-quirky-enough primary and secondary packaging and forms. I love the simple color scheme and give bonus points for being 100% refillable, compostable, and recyclable.

On becoming the coolest development designer ever

I’ve always had a passion for putting things together in a visually pleasing way. As a kid, I would use those generic publishing programs that came with my computer and create corporate identities for made-up businesses. I also arranged my crayons in perfect chromatic order. I grew up calling it Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but when I got to high school, I realized it was more commonly referred to as Graphic Design.

On her favorite color, substrate or finish

I’m super into soft touch like everyone else, but especially with a great blind emboss — where it’s all about the color, texture, and the depth/shadows created. Corals have really been catching my eye lately. If I could invent/name a Pantone Swatch, it would definitely be ‘electric coral’.

On recharging

Family life, live music, writing music, art, video games, playing with makeup.

Fun fact about me

I was invited to join as the front woman for a metal band after the lead guitarist overheard me singing the Golden Girls theme song.
